ZIMO Sound Creator and ZIMO Sound Editor are the further development of the previous ZSP – ZIMO Sound Programmer and its sub-programme ZPP Konfig.
Creator & Editor now function as standalone programmes, but – as they are largely identical in terms of data – are still downloaded together as ZIMO Sound Tools (see below). Sound Creator and Sound Editor overlap in their range of functions, but whilst the Sound Editor deliberately focuses on the needs of end users and is designed for the convenient customisation, testing and loading of existing sound projects into ZIMO decoders, the Sound Creator is used for the creation and development of new, complete sound projects and is primarily used by professional sound designers, manufacturers and independent creatives.

ZIMO Sound Creator and Sound Editor require a compatible hardware tool such as ZIMO MXULF or ZIMO KLUG for updating and sound load. Thanks to the seamless development history of ZSP/ZPP Konfig and ZIMO Sound Creator/Sound Editor, both programmes are also compatible with older-generation ZIMO decoder update and sound-loading devices (MXDECUP, MX31ZL).

ZIMO Sound Creator and ZIMO Sound Editor are available as a single installation file in a combined download.
To highlight the significant leap in development compared to the previous versions of ZSP/ZPP Konfig (numbered 1.xx.xx), the version numbering starts at 2.00.
The ‘ZIMO Sound Tools’ package contains not only Sound Creator and Sound Editor but also the CV-Set-Creator.
You can easily select in the installation dialogue whether to install just the Sound Creator or the Sound Editor, or both programmes.

ZSP Software version 1_21_0 allows sound projects (.zpr and .zpp) to be loaded onto MX and MS decoders via a USB cable from a computer. These can be loaded using a SUSI cable (MS and MX decoders; possibly from the MXTPAV) or via a ‘track’ connection (MX decoders only). Loading sound into MS decoders via SUSI takes approx. 15 mins; loading via a ‘track’ connection can take up to 2.5 hours. The new ZSP version also includes, amongst other things, the option to load sound projects created in 16-bit (provided there is sufficient memory in the decoder) into MX decoders, whereby the sound files are converted to 8-bit. To do this, a setting must be selected in ZSP:

Decoder memory size: 128 Mbit or 32 Mbit

As soon as the memory size of 32 Mbit is selected, the ZSP loads the files as 8-bit files into the ZIMO decoder. For further changes in the current ZSP software, please refer to the changelog (click on ‘Help / Changelog’).

ZSP software version 1_21_0 enables you to load MX and MS decoders from a computer with sound projects (.zpr and .zpp) via a USB cable.
