Loudspeakers for ZIMO sound decoders

All ZIMO decoders have the capacities to use 8 ohm speakers, most of them (except the miniature types such as MS491, MS500, MS591, MS540) can use 4 ohm speakers or 2 * 8 ohm speakers connected in parallel.

The sound decoder for "small scales" (MS450, MS440, MS481..., FS850, MX-Types, and the gauge O decoder MS950) work with a 5 V supply for the sound amplifier (miniature types create 1W audio power, the others 3W audio power); larger sound decoders (MS990 and MX types), work with 10 V supply (and 10 W audio power at 4 ohms), whereby the speaker has a much higher load.

Therefore ZIMO large scale decoders (10 V) should ONLY use Speakers > 3 W, NOT, however, the typical N- and 00/H0 speakers which are 0.5 W to 2 W.

	LS28R	Round speaker 28 mm, preferably to be used in locomotives, which are intended for the installation of such a speaker, so the resonator body is integrated in the loco body, 8 Ohm / 1 W.
ZIMO Special - the "Dumbo" - Variations
LS26X20X08 LS40X20X09LS40X22X09 LS50X15X14	LS26X20X08	""Dumbo" small lateral resonator body, therefore flatter than the "Dumbo" LS13X18 (see above), allthough it sounds similar to it. 26 x 20 x 8 mm, 8 Ohm / 1 W.
	LS40X20X09	"Dumbo" with a longer (but still flat) resonator body to ensure a perfect reproduction of bass tones 40 x 20 x 9 mm, 8 Ohm / 1 W.
	LS40X22X09	Two „Dumbos“ in a box, higher volume (only for 3 Watt sound decoder), but relatively little resonance volume, thus slightly weaker bass reproduction. 40 x 22 x 9 mm, 4 Ohm / 2 W
	LS55X22X09 (NO image)	Two „Dumbos“, with high volume and good bass reproduction. 55 x 22 x 9 mm, 4 Ohm / 2 W
	LS50X15X14	Two „Dumbos“, narrower but higher than the type above, high volume and good bass response (similar to the type above). 50 x 15 x 14 mm, 4 Ohm / 2 W.
	LSG50X15X14 (NO image)	Two „Dumbos“, same as the type above, but the two Dumbo's connected in series, therefore suitable for ZIMO large scale sound decoders (which the speakers operating at 10 V instead of 5V), especially useful when there is not enough space for a larger size VISATON speaker. 50 x 15 x 14 mm, 16 Ohm / 2 W.
Speakers with small beads
LS16X12	LS12X16	Speaker with particularly good bass reproduction, 12 x 16 x 5.5 mm, 8 ohms / 1 W. Important! Thanks to special technology involving small beads in the loudspeaker, the LS12X16 does not require an additional sound capsule – the resonator body is already integrated. When installed, there must be sufficient space for the speaker membrane so that it can swing out completely.
Broad range speakers (shown in a smaller scale)
