New software for driving cabs and wireless driving cabs - New Languages - New Functionality

The new software version (1.10) is available for download and update from around 15 June 2006 for all users of the MX31 and MX31FU driving cabs.

One of the main features of this software release is the ability to switch languages; Obviously English is included!

Numerous other improvements have been added, some of which are already announced, others are from our experience and the remainder from requests and information from our customers.

NEW manual for MX31 available (draft format), as photos are not yet complete.

Address input features
The menu appears when a loco address is activated for the first time (not from the back-up memory):

It offers the opportunity right at the very beginning to input other values than the defaults for some of the important parameters; especially practically for LGB locomotives, for example, which must be adjusted to pulse chain function control and 14 drive positions.

Also right at the outset, a name for the new address can be defined, which saves the user having to carry out the procedure later on.

  qp the Soft Key III

With the Soft Key III you can switch from to Operator Mode to Expert Mode (and back again) while either driving or controlling.

In Expert Mode the Operator screen appears in the upper half of the display, while the lower half is used for functions, in particular for Scroll tables of the vehicle and solenoid addresses from the back-up memory, which allows for a particularly comfortable selection, and direct change of the desired address.

In the middle bar the current measured values for driving voltage and current consumption (sent from the base box) are visible, in the future "RailCom" messages etc. will also be available.

Point switching in driving mode through the use of soft keys, which are linked with selected points (in the picture is an example of the definition process), later also with routes.

Through the 3 level Menu (which can be called up at any time by the ‘M’ button) different system and device functions can be modified.
I.E.. setting of the system clock, adjustment of the display lighting, language selection, programming and definition procedures (e.g. definition of the soft keys for points switching, see above).

Also programming and e-procedures are  clearly listed here and are selectable, although available direct from the operation mode, there are "Short cuts" for these processes.

The development of the MX31 - software will obviously continue after 1.10! - (In line with our famous continuous development policy)

There are many useful features still to come in future versions: selective transmission of the name lists between the driving cabs and the base box, new operation for multiple heading, automatic display brightness for ambient lighting, easy  programming procedures, etc.
